St. Catherine's Military School, founded by the Dominican sisters of Mission San Jose in 1889, is the only school in California offering day and residency programs for boys, grades K-8. St. Catherine's average class size is 19, with a student/teacher ration of 13:1. Our academic program strives for excellence in working with a diverse student body in a structured environment. St. Catherine's has a computer lab for use by all students. Our music program consists of private lessons in piano or guitar, participation in the SCMS Marching Band or choir, and classroom instruction. Our dorms are staffed by Dominican Sisters and consist of 14-18 boys in each dorm. Within our residency program, the structure and values taught in school are reinforced and practiced. Our unique military program strives to teach the military code of discipline and honor, respect for self and others, and leadership. St. Catherine's is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the Western Catholic Education Association, and the Association of Military Colleges and Schools.
